MEETINGS AND PROVIDER GROUPS
The Coalition offers the opportunity for professionals in the children's mental health field to network, share experiences and best practices and to develop policy positions on many pertinent issues to best serve children, family and youth. The Coalition offers these exclusive benefits to members only:
Full Coalition Meetings - Chief Executive Officers and their senior program staff meet quarterly in New York City, Albany and Western New York to discuss reimbursement, regulatory and legislative issues and proposals affecting children's mental health services across New York State. These meetings offer presentations by state and national experts on timely issues and topics of interest to enhance operational efficiencies, share state-of-the-art treatment & services and develop policy and legislative proposals and responses to best serve the youth, children and families we serve. These meetings are open to members only.
Provider Groups - The following provider groups offer professionals the opportunity to meet and converse via conference calls and webinars on initiatives, changes and information that affect children's mental health services statewide. Provider Groups meet in person at the Annual Training Forum, and as needed, as well as quarterly via conference calls. Provider Groups include:
Family Based Treatment (FBT)
Community Residence (CR)
Home and Community Based Waiver (HCBW)
Family Support Services
Quality Assurance
Residential Treatment Facility Providers (RTF)
Regional Meetings - Coalition members convene regional meetings throughout the year to bring back regional concerns and issues through the Coalition to state policy makers. In addition, the Coalition shares its policy concerns and initiatives through the regional structure in order to adequately gather data and information, analyze regional and statewide impacts and identify the needs of children, youth and families from both a statewide and local perspective. Regional meetings are held at provider agencies and are open to both Coalition members and non-members.
OMH Quarterly Meetings - The Coalition's Board of Directors meet with key officials in program, finance, quality assurance and legal, as well as with the Commissioner as needed, at the New York State Office of Mental Health. These meetings offer a collaborative approach to policy decisions, proposals and restructuring initiatives as we collectively transform the children's mental health system. These meetings are open to Board Members Only and are reported out at every Full Coalition Meeting.
